For use by electrical professionals within the controlled areas of food processing and manufacturing, the Oberon FR Hairnet complies with NFPA 70E.  If employees use hairnets these items must be non-melting and flame resistant. Typical Hairnets are manufactured of materials such as polyester that are flammable & meltable, increasing the extent of burn injury in the event of an arc flash explosion.

We suggest that the hair and beard nets be washed in a garment bag. They are a very light knit, so we do not want someone putting them in a washing machine with other FR items that could pull and tug on the individual hair and beard nets. Top loading machines pull and twist garments where front loading machines are a more tumbling action and not as ruff. A laundry mesh bag that would be used for delicates will help protect them. The bag will extend the life no matter what type of washing machines are used. Additionally, washing and drying directions will be the same as arc garments.
